This is Ann, a model who sat for our portrait group yesterday. Painted in oils from life in about 2 hours. 9x12 panel

Here’s another shot of Ann after a second layer of paint to match her skins tones better. Her skin was quite a bit darker and warmer than captured in the first layer. I still need to glaze another layer to add more red and orange tones.

Good job! you may want to push the iris in value. Depending on the temperature of light, there can be a lot of oranges in the flesh tone

The extra layer has provided more solidity as well as warming the flesh tones up.

Here’s the final version of this portrait. Glazed more yellows to match her actual skin tones and added more details to her hair.
