Re: PAINT-A-LONG anyone interested in joining us?

Hi all,#
I totally forgot to post my second try.
So here it is. I tried to implement your suggestions and help.
And I did it on canvas board this time.
My colors are mainly from Lukas, but I also have a few of those cheap acrylics (I am replacing them step by step)

And at the end I messed it up by not being concentrated: the oats should go into one direction only - to the left. And not also to the right How bad... my husband meant, I should name the painting: Windless

Hope you see at least a bit of improvement.
It was difficult to get the fence like in the first painting due to the support.

well, here it is

Very nice Gaby...your front waves are wonderful, and I like your dunes and grasses!! Great light on the sand too!

Gaby

Wow this is a big step forward - really great second version. I love the colour you got for the sand, and the light on the dune in the foreground is really nice. You've got the grass looking quite natural as well, and the waves work for me. So, I think you should be happy with this.

wow are you quick

Thanks so much Susan and Colin! It means a lot to me, if you see some improvement. To be honest, what I like most in this one is that I managed to get some light into the grass above that highlighted dune

Thanks again,
Gaby

Definite improvement Gaby - you've done well!
The sand colours and form of the dunes are super - and it doesn't matter about the grass directions - it's not windy!

Always remember, it's YOUR painting and you can do as you wish
Well done indeed.

Well done Gaby.. Am glad you tried it again... Very nice improvements... You water is very good and the sand dunes have good form and color.. Don't worry about the oats, grass directions don't matter so much .. You should be pleased

I too see a good deal of improvement, Gaby! Those foreground grasses are so graceful and lifelike against the dark of the fence and the lovely color of the sand. Your water and waves are every bit as good as your first painting and your sky is lovely and soft. Very well done!

I hope you enjoyed painting on canvas panel! It's one of my favorite supports.

Re: PAINT-A-LONG anyone interested in joining us?

Uh thanks so so much for commenting and encouraging me

Maureen, thanks a lot for all your help!

Bhavani, thanks for your comment. Yes, now I am a bit pleased with my painting. The first one finished Ok, and with no wind at all - oats could also go to the right. That's my kind to say to somebody, who looks onto the painting: find the error - and keep it

Thanks a lot Judy!!! Your tip using canvas board was really great: I had so much fun, because I could dab and scrub and do what I want. Gesso parts, if I don't like them - rework them... ha, yes I really had fun doing that
Paint behaves in a different way. I recognized that mainly in doing the fences - the brushstrokes were a load different from those done on paper.

It's a great difference between the supports and I want to try more out.

Thanks people

Gaby
