Re: P.A.L.- Paint-a-Long : Making waves! Seascape.

Virginia - wow such a beautiful wave with the lovely blue-green light in it and nice dashing foam. I feel as if I have been spackled with cold water just looking at it.

Gaby - Sorry to hear about all the upsets and challenges facing you at the moment. I think your wave is great. You have a nice transition from the light on the left to the dark on the right that gives a real feeling of power to the water.

More great waves This has really been an enjoyable exercise. I just wish I had time to do another, but alas, life does get in the way!
I wouldn't mind doing another still life for the next one, if there is one. I learn so much from these pal's. Whenever and whatever the subject matter, I'm looking forward to it and hope I have more time to participate.

Everyone has done a great job!!

Re: P.A.L.- Paint-a-Long : Making waves! Seascape.

Gaby - I don't think there's much 'wrong' with your wave at all!
The only little thing I could maybe suggest is to make the 'background' sea a little smoother and give less attention to the disturbed water there, so that all the focus is on the front and major wave - but it's a minor thing!

Cindy - working on the next idea - yes, still life, and maybe include in that one or two other suggestions!
But summer is busy for all of us so it may be another week or so before I have stuff collected

Virginia, I love the depth of color you have in your distant waves. You have great movement and action in the waves, too. Really well done!

Gaby, you have a lot of action in your scene, both in the foreground and further back. I like this a lot!

That's my Canadianess coming out. I used to swim in the lake by my Mom's when there was still ice in it.
You're exactly right about the spray, I couldn't put my finger on what was bugging me so much about it but now I see it, thanks!
Thanks all for the lovely comments!

Gaby, I like your wave, especially the way the light is hitting it, lovely!

Re: P.A.L.- Paint-a-Long : Making waves! Seascape.

Cindy...love yours!!

Gaby, nicely done!!

Got tired of feeling sick... so decided to mess with my first wave, which I never really liked all that well. Figured I could not really hurt it.

That's the closest I could get it...the back water is not quite so dark. Still have this overwhelming urge to "straighten" the horizon, even tho' I know it's a cove...

I echo Raymo!
You've given it a lot of 'oomph' Susan -

I agree Susan. Lots of good contrast, that foreground foam looks super, you've depicted a somewhat rough sea, and lots of color! Great job! Now good luck with your move!!

This is stunning Susan. Your foam is superb, as is the action of your waves.

Ray, Maureen, Cindy, Judy and Colin...thank you so much! I have to admit, I was pleased with the result.
