Any artists here who have worked with installations

If there is anyone here who is willing for me to ask a few questions about their work and their own approach in order to provide research for my final major piece, it would be much appreciated.

I'd prefer to find an artist or a couple of artists that are on this site and provide primary research to my project rather than secondary.

please respond

i have to assume you have a space allocated for your piece(s)
and a theme chosen
and a purpose/message/story
and all the content figured/placed/sketched on paper
and the mechanics worked out

is this a school homework project?

Re: Any artists here who have worked with installations

Why don't you post your specific questions? Hopefully you have some questions based on ideas or theories you have about the issues in conceptualizing and installing installations. This works better, I think, than asking something like "What are the issues in installations as a form of art?"
Some people here may have designed an installation, while others may have assisted.
You probably know this, but a publication like Art in America will have interviews with people who do installations.

Re: Any artists here who have worked with installations

I have done a few small installations specific to my own work. I know installation art is not too popular around here, but I like it depending on what it is of course. What is it you'd like to know? I usually need a wall with most of mine before it goes off onto the floor, but I do have some that strictly present itself on the floor in a circle.

I have also helped a good friend with her installations, which are amazing and they go all over the room in different directions. They are hard to descibe, but I would be willing to if needed. I consider her work to be the most compelling I have ever known, sometimes more than Tara Donovan because of it's meaning and materials/usage and also it's public interaction.
