Re: lavender fields

Very interesting idea and almost surreal in the result. Love that row of trees.

Re: lavender fields

I does have a surrealistic feel about it - the combination of strong flat colour and the softer work on the trees and the mountain. Very striking indeed.

Re: lavender fields

Thanks Chammi,

I did a similar sort of excercise on a picture called " red doors " if you remember it and it has sold well as a print so I thought I'd have another go --- fingers crossed as We say!

Re: lavender fields

Sweet. This is different from what I normally see. Good work. Only thing I don't like is the mark in the bottom right corner, kinda distracting! I noticed the same mark in your boat painting as well.

Re: lavender fields

Well,
That's pure vanity on my behalf ,that mark is my " signature " you will note it is a letter T overlaying a W, which corresponds to my initials [ my name is William Thornton ] .Saying that, most painters sign their work !!

Re: lavender fields

I already commented in digital, but here I'll say that I do like the acrylic background, the light on the trees is really nice against the dark background.

Visually exciting. Directional elements and color are unique.

Re: lavender fields

Thank you Derek.
I was keen on getting the lavender colour close enough to be realistic.
