Key West Cottage

I used to live in Key West...25 yrs ago...this would have been a typical cottage then, but things have changed and most of the locals can't afford the cottages anymore...fancy vacation homes now. Oh well, one thing we can count on is that nothing stays the same. 140 cp...8" x 10". Thanks for looking.

This is very gorgeous! I love your tropical colors and easy style. I have a place for it on my wall :-)

Re: Key West Cottage

That's really nice. I would like to live in that painting, but not in Key West anymore.

Re: Key West Cottage

The "softness" of the palette is enviable. I feel the breeze...you make the viewer "present"...Love this!

Re: Key West Cottage

Really captures the atmosphere of "old" Key West. Soft and tropical.

Re: Key West Cottage

I really like the softness of this painting and the composition. The laundry is a great touch.

Re: Key West Cottage

That was a typical Florida cottage of 50 years ago.

Re: Key West Cottage

Great painting. I can really get the feel of the tropical weather there. I like the colors and the negative painting of the white picket fence.

Re: Key West Cottage

Such a happy, carefree scene indicative of a simpler time; love the wash on the clothesline and that white picket fence! I loved living in Florida the years I went to nursing school...recently back there and saw many of these cottages in Clearwater/Indian Rocks Beach areas.
