I'm a novice at watercolor so I need all the critiques possible. This was done on Aquabord using Koi watercolors. 8x10"

Very fine, light-filled and delicious still lifes!
(What jam is there for breakfast?)

Re: Morning Has Broken

I like it very much! Great lighting, love the curtains...whole composition is really pleasing. Only thing that I might do is to add a little dark shadow under the jar of jam, like you did under the plate, to ground it to the table. Very nice painting...

Re: Morning Has Broken

If only all watercolour novices could paint like this!

A lovely painting Wassie. Very well painted net curtains and the dark surround at the bottom and sides helps frame the picture and concentrate the eye on the table. Sorry to see the jam has almost gone! I'd have been inclined to leave the jar half full as a focal point.

You're doing very, very well Wassie! I really like your curtains, their shadows and the vibrancy of the tabletop.

Re: Morning Has Broken

What a wonderful little slice of life! This definitely does not seem like the painting of a novice. You must of had some practice. Love the way the curtains left a design on the table.

Re: Morning Has Broken

This is really good for a novice; I wouldn't have the patience to paint the curtain like that, for instance.

Re: Morning Has Broken

It's so lovely and warm. You did a great job with the subject and the way the light is hitting the top of the table.

Re: Morning Has Broken

Thank you, everyone, for your kind comments. Sorry the jam is almost gone. and I agree that the jam needs a little more shadow at the base. The curtains took a very long time. I've been drawing and painting for years but this is only my 3rd watercolor.
