Flowers and apples

I don't like drawing still life very much. But the apples falling from neighbour's apple tree into my garden inspired me to paint them.

Re: Flowers and apples

Thank you! And the pot is really wonderful. My Granny got it full of sweets at New Year when she was a small girl. It's very old.

Re: Flowers and apples

It's going straight from Wet Canvas to the Hermitage. Beautiful. Looks like it was painted by an old master (or mistress in this case).

Re: Flowers and apples

Looking at this I would never guess you didn't like still life, because this suggests otherwise! I love the way you have arranged the objects for this piece. The apples provide a lovely fresh green to the foreground and the white flowers and grasses are really well painted.

Re: Flowers and apples

Awesome. Really like the overall color. There's a nice depth to the subjects as well. Love the detail contrast between the wet on wet for the background and wood and the subject matter. Really well done.
