Re: As the Oily Rag Burns..... September 2018

Marcia, glad to hear some others are getting to do some painting too, I have been working on some rocks in a landscape I am doing. It has been coming along wonderfully so far, but there is so much yet to go. I blocked everything in fast and it looked really good to me yesterday, then I started detailing some of the rocks and now everything looks sloppy by comparison Well guess that means I have a lot of work to do.

Re: As the Oily Rag Burns..... September 2018

Happy Caturday Oilycats!!!

Delo, I am sure your rocks are going to be just fine. Let me know if you post it somewhere.

My current piece on the easel got damned by faint praise yesterday, which was pretty discouraging. I just have to let it go and keep working. I will probably post it on woye later.

Re: As the Oily Rag Burns..... September 2018

I hope everyone has had a great Caturday. I finally got my motel sign to the point where I could post it on woye.

Early dinner, then out for the monthly art crawl.

Thanks for the quick reply, Becca! But won't that just link to the video? I had hoped to embed it, as Marcia often does with her Simon's Cat posts. Am I correct that the link feature does not embed anything?

I had hoped this would work, but it does not:

I don't have time to fuss with this further, so anyway, here is the link to Henri Le Chat.

If anyone knows how to do embedding of videos here at WC, I'd appreciate the info for future reference.

Re: As the Oily Rag Burns..... September 2018

I love Henri Le Chat Noir
The proper tags for embedding a video are:
[ antv] (leave out the space between the bracket and the 'a')
&
[/antv]

between these, you paste the last string of letters in the youtube url after v=

Depending on your browser, if you quote my post, you will see how it is supposed to look:

Oh, and new Simon's Cat!

Talking Kitty Cat is also fun. (although bf thinks Sylvester is too creepy)

If I can find it, there is a page with all of the tags that WC uses, that I will post.

Re: As the Oily Rag Burns..... September 2018

Hey, Marcia, I can see the coding in the quote of your post when I try to reply, but I can't actually see the video (either post). It may be my browser though.

Thanks for the help in posting videos. But the url to the video I wanted to post didn't have any numbers, and it didn't work when I tried it with the "antv" command. I don't understand what you meant about "after the 'v'."

But I have something else you may find funny. It's a scientific paper entitled "On the Rheology of Cats," which explores whether a cat is a solid or a liquid. It actually first was posted in a scientific journal! Here's the link: https://www.scribd.com/document/3591...eology-of-Cats Don't get bogged down in the scientific jargon, but focus on the concept and illustrations.

It was raining tonight and my volunteer partner gave me a ride home from the theater. Oh, I was so happy about it! She's a very nice person and I'm disappointed that tonight was her last night. Her daughter needs her help since she's due to have her first baby in November, and she (the daughter) is also in the process of a cross-country move because her husband has taken a new job. Just thinking about trying to manage all that makes me feel exhausted...

Re: As the Oily Rag Burns..... September 2018

It has been over 5 years since I last visited this site with any frequency, I'm sorry to see that the oil painting forum isn't nearly as active as it once was.

I do have some good news. Two weeks ago I became a grandpa for the first time. Very pleased, I never thought it was going to happen.

Sorry to hear your health still isn't up to par. Last I remember, you were battling some serious health issues.

Hi freesail, I remember your name from a while ago, but don't think we got to know each other. Welcome back and I hope your return will be the start of a trend. Congrats on the new grandchild too.

Marcia (and anyone else who is interested in walking or traveling with their cat), this is a site I may have posted before, but just ran across again and thought might be of interest: https://www.adventurecats.org
