Robbie, I love Pandas. They are my favourite bears and yours are so beautifully done in pastels.

April 13, 2018 at 10:21 am #603940How lovely… Also they look like a ying-yang :D… I think you miss something as background , the open space takes the attention off the composition… or is it just me?

April 13, 2018 at 4:06 pm #603931I love this, a playful moment with the pandas.
C&C welcome and appreciated
April 13, 2018 at 4:12 pm #603929I think the background works perfectly the way it is. There is so much going on with the pandas and the incredible work on the detail that a background with more in it would detract from the main subject and make the painting too busy. This is MHO but really, Robbie, I would leave it the way it is. Our diplomas with the LCA taught us a lot, and one of the things I learned was keep it as uncomplicated as possible.

My Blog/WIP's and Tips: Chammi's Art EscapadesApril 13, 2018 at 7:25 pm #603937Beautiful work Robert. I would not add background, for me it would take away from the main focus; the Pandas, just confuse the image.

I agree with Chammi, I don’t think you need to add anything to the background, it’s super the way it is with the Panda’s the focal point – a background may distract from them?Moderator: Animal & Wildlife, Floral & Botanical, Watermedia
