I have painted this baby giraffe a few times before so this time I decided to start with vine charcoal and add watercolor. Hmmmmm
90 minutes
18” x 24” on 140 watercolor paper
Vine charcoal
Daniel Smith watercolors

Photos taken last night and we all know how goofy the colors get but it’s pretty close.

I bet this is spectacular in real life – 18 x 24 would make this really impressive. I like it very, very much…bold and tender at the same time!

it must be a jawdropper irl due to size and the clean shape caught with such blackness. the sharp lines and the soft billowy colors play very well together!
