Weather - especially the cold - is why I left Wisconsin many years ago... and why still in Florida steadily since the mid 80's [used to live in G'ville in the 70's before spending a year in Virginia and two in Oklahoma, then to Tampa]... miss visiting the snow - but that's it

LOL Robert, I moved from Mediteranean like Santa Barbara to Milwaukee the year of one of the worst blizzard seasons on record---the winter of '78, lived there for 6 years before moving to AZ I swear it took 6 years to thaw out. I'm f guessing they wouldn't install an environmental dome for you either. If they had for me I might have stayed, The Spring and Fall are beautiful there---but they are here too. I still have my fleece lined boots and down coat from those days which I'll bring if I make to the show.

LOL - Milwaukee was where lived when decided to be smart and leave for the south like the birds did...
[and yes, not anticipating having to be here so many years, STILL have the winter wear from those old days, at least the sweaters as no longer fit into the other ]

Lorna - gorgeous! That's what my backyard looks like now too (only a whole lot smaller... but there's a hot tub in it so I'll make do!). Robert - your work is gorgeous! However I have to agree that you're crazy (as if we're not all crazy scraping bazillions of teeny-tiny lines... somehow it doesn't seem as labour-intensive as the pen & ink though!).

Maybe it's because I'm Canadian... but I absolutely LOVE the climate here in Colorado. It's like all the good bits (snow, chilly days) but with sunshine and only for 1/3 of the year. Of course this is after many years on the east coast (temperate but wet and overcast) and a few in Saskatchewan (colder than Mars twice the last year I lived there.. that is a place where both Canadians and Americans learn that celcius and farenheit meet at -40... and yes Pamela I think you're a little crazy living there and I send you wishes that your car plug doesn't freeze and snap!). Of course my achilles heel is that I can't take the heat at all - the thought of Florida or Texas or northern Australia ... eep!!

I don't get on the boards as much these days but luckily that's because I'm getting crap done (yay me!). And with the snow-dumping I'm getting out on the snowboard - it's killing me (being fat and out of shape as I am) but what a workout and I LOVE it. So please forgive me for popping in every so often, leaving a bunch of random comments and then disappearing again.

And my cute story of the week - I'm still tweaking 'Jazz' and have been frustrated that I can't get it the way I want it, so I asked my hubby for some feedback (he's a vet and not inclined toward the visual arts much at all) - he looks at it, thinks a moment, and then starts telling me that he's 'not sure about the values' . Apparently I talk about art more than I thought .
