Ive been messing around with scratchboard and i want to add color but it seems the only thing that will cover is paint and inks. Ive tried colored pencils and pastels and theres just not enough tooth for those to adhere to. Has anyone else found a way to do it. Both paint and ink method is fine but those will be shot out of my airbrushes and they are packed up for a move out of state.

Maybe try with a small brush some of your airbrush paints…something reasonably quick drying like acrylics?

What type of scratchboard medium are you using? I have found that some don’t take well to colors while others do better. I use colored inks on Ampersand Scratchboard and Claybord products. I also know that some people have success with watercolor on these products, too.
