Redwood Forest - New Zealand

Hi all -
Here is my painting, along with the reference picture. My goal is to portray the awesome majesty of these beautiful trees. Any suggestions? Thanks so much.

Maybe add more bark texture to the foreground trees?

Re: Redwood Forest - New Zealand

Add more burnt sienna with your blue for the darks. Make the left side trees a little darker and darken the foliage near the top of the trees, to give the illusion of the canopy they create.

Thanks, Rich. Yes, I see that the darks are too "blue" - so adding the burnt sienna will tone these down. And great idea to darken both the left side trees and the foliage near the tree tops. I'll do this!!
