A Nude Smirking

Hello everyone! I do not often post here, usually posting over in abstract forum, but i have never abdanoned the figure. she still haunts me. this is one of my favorite paintings, it is also one of my very smallest. it is eight by ten inches. usually my paintings are four by four feet or more. i guess the figure reserves a bit of intimacy.

Re: A Nude Smirking

I moved your thread from the Library Archives. I think this is where you meant it to go.

I like this. Strong composition and a good figure drawing with lots of personality.

Great contrasts & intimacy. you should return to the figure more often

Re: A Nude Smirking

a captivating little picture, makes me think of a cross between Gauguin and Renoir... it's a bit like an abstracted gesture drawing in colour, certainly not meant to be realistic... and the eye just puts it all together.

This is a very special painting. In fact it is a modern classic. I know jack squat about art is there such a term as this in art. Well, if not...now there is.

Some good art you think you just don't see anymore.

I love this! This is one of my favorite types of art, abstract mixed with realism.
