Use to denote nudity/mature subject matter nude in blue

I've got back on the painting easel this week. I've been painting abstracts, using a really good and inexpensive and thick bodied acrylic by Scola. Acrylic is great for large canvases because of the cost. Oil would be lovely but you get through a lot of paint. After three abstracts, the urge to return to figure work was too strong but I wanted to continue the loose feel of paint. after getting the main image down in paint, I edged the figure with a conte stick. It maybe not everyone's cup of tea but I like the result.

edit: I varnished the image in dammar. Some say you shouldnt use that on top of acrylic but it seemed to work OK and I've done it before. The final result is difficult to tell from oil. I knew it would smear the conte a little bit but , for me, it added to the image. Canvas is 50 x 60 cm

Here's an example of the impasto that you can achieve from a full bodied acrylic. If you did this in oil it would take a month of Sundays at least to harden but the thickest results will fully set in a few days...

Re: nude in blue

Nice satisfying curves in this, it has a strong graphic quality. I agree about the smeared conté.
