My biggest problem lately has been finding time to get some painting done. grrr...
I used the grid on this one, since I was pretty sure I'd have drawn the face either too large or small without some guidance. It's helping me a lot!
I only worked a little bit on the face with soft pastel pencils, just enough to give me confidence I could do it.
The rest is blocked in with Nupastels.
Per Rich's excellent tutorial on using Nupastels for an underpainting, I sprayed all that with 2 passes of Krylon workable fix, before moving on with OP's.
I worked on the portrait part first. Thanks to Sarah for giving a recent list of good flesh colors - I used Neopastel cream as a first layer, with Senns orange ochre and a little flesh ochre.
Mungyos in the sky and the landscape part.
I *think* I'll call this one done, though I'm interested in feedback on my swirly bits. Lately, it seems if nothing is swirling, then I'm looking for a way to do it.
