Painted from reference and next time thought I should paint more directly from source. Wet on wet.

        CC welcome.

Love your mountain and the trees have a lot of variation in size and character.

The clouds are super. The grass is nice, also. The top of the mountains look a little flat, to me.

Love the way you created shapes of colours.

Great job…this piece leads me right into the scene…. well done.

I like the clouds the best, the way that you have seen colors in them.

I am a native flatlander myself and the mountains give me fits. I am trying to go to school on the sketches of Nathan Fowkes for help with mountains. He has many sketches from our Salt Lake Valley and Provo Canyon. His Blog.

Hope you come to find mountains easier than I. Gary

Thank you all so much, and the site you shared – Trikist – is wonderful. Thank you very much for sending that along. Looking forward to diving in and learning from Nathan’s work in those mountains. Just went out to Gardner Village today, and there were some lovely snow covered mountains nearby that I think I’ll give a shot at.

Your painting has an interesting almost surreal look. Very nice.
