Re: Hi Lurkers

Hi Yemassee. I don't know about paper mache, but we'll say yes it is welcome. Nobody else doing that right now that I know of. Crochet and sewing definitely. We are at all skill levels so post your work. Costuming is awesome. We've had some show up from time to time. I haven't done any costuming in years, but love to see what others are up to. Welcome.

Re: Hi Lurkers

The paper mache is part of the costuming. I use it to shape head dresses and props. Currently I am working on three Costumes for a Masquerade Ball fund raiser. The theme for the ball is Fairy Tails. It is a fund raiser for a local group that works with Sea Turtles.

So I have Tinkerbell going formal wings long gown of leaves and shoes with floral poofs. Maleficent and her crow, can never remember his name. And the last one is Princess Peacock- it is a Hungarian fairytale akin to the The princess and the Frog. So I suppose that is four costumes.. lol.

Re: Hi Lurkers

I love the baby quilt, much more creative than the one I did out of my son's flannel shirts for his baby boy?

Re: Hi Lurkers

I'm thrilled to find this is a forum on WetCanvas! I've stalked WC for a while now, but mostly for painting/mural-related things. I've been scrolling through a bit more today, and noticed the word "knitting." This forum seems a little bit more active than the Decorative Arts/Mural one for some reason.

I paint, but I also knit, and crochet (occasionally sew, but my gifts are not many there)! Between this site and Ravelry, I might break my Facebook addiction, haha!

Things I've made recently: socks, Christmas stockings to continue a family's traditions (the original knitters have passed on), baby hat and I'm swatching for my very first "big" project: a cardigan.

Nice to "meet" you all!
