Re: Fiber Arts Links, Books and Resources

www.berroco.com Berroco yarn company. They have a lot of free patterns browseable by type of product or level of experience, and many of them are in PDF form so one can download them and save to one's computer.

Favorite site I haven't shopped yet:
www.meinketoy.com
They have lots of kits that allow you to sample a lot of fibers/fabrics/mediums/colors at once. They also have tassel making supplies.

www.quiltingarts.com for Quilting Arts and Cloth Paper Scissors and small online shopping.

www.joggles.com for dollmaking.

There is also a site somewhere for silk fiber artists, specifically silk fusing.... I'll have to try to remember the name.

www.firemountaingems.com for beads, stringing and macrame supplies, foundations for bead embroidery, etc.

Re: Fiber Arts Links, Books and Resources++ P.S.

Okay, I remember now:

www.treenwaysilks.com for the silk fusion

Also, when I came home today I found a catalog from Knit Picks. They carry boutique style yarn at reasonable prices, plus there are a few free patterns, low cost downloadable patterns, notions, etc. Plus, they sell PFD yarn at reasonable prices as well.

Re: Fiber Arts Links, Books and Resources

Here is a link to a contemporary fiber arts gallery in Denver. I haven't been
over there yet, but I am familiar with some of the work of the artists. Very high end work

They have a call for entry on their site...check it out....short time frame to
deadlines (November 30)

I haven't seen a link to
http://www.quiltart.com/

This is interesting for all art quilters. It's the "Internet's largest mailing list for contemporary art quilters" - subscription is free but if you like it they are looking forward to a small donation.

Greetings,

Re: Fiber Arts Links, Books and Resources

Here's a couple of knitting books I haven't seen mentioned.

Unexpected Knitting by Debbie New. ISBN 0-942018-22-2
Debbie New's book has knit tapestries, a lace boat that floats, knit cup and saucer. I love to look through this book. You can see pictures (actually cards) of some of her work at:
http://www.philosopherswool.com/Page...ieNewCards.htm

Freeform Knitting and Crochet by Jenny Dowde. ISBN 1-86351-327-2
Here's her web site:

Re: Fiber Arts Links, Books and Resources

Good morning, I love to search online for resources. These are three of my favorites:
The antique pattern libraty is unique. Check it out.
http://www.antiquepatternlibrary.org/index.html

The following two have free patterns and for more than just crocheting.

Enjoy
