So, to appease the DW get a small guest house" where you can both live until you can upgrade the master house. Or, maybe the DW will suggest you move into the guest house altogether!

We own a small house next door. Sometimes I think hubby should move into that one, he can come visit after he cleans up.

He did say I could use the house for a studio, but that would be inconvenient.

Re: QDC - our Quick-Dry-Cafe ..... come chat!

Great idea, Sheila. I have often envisaged a small house in the backyard.

BUT for the very first time this evening DW actually suggested I could eventually have the big room in the basement for a studio if our son moves out. It's a big space, with a tiled floor, and great natural light from windows on two sides. This is major progress. . (I wonder what she wants in return )

Whatever, I am packing our son's suitcase myself tomorrow while he's at work.

Colin.

I keep looking at our garage and thinking it would make a nice big studio. Just need to win a lottery because first we would need a new garage.

Re: QDC - our Quick-Dry-Cafe ..... come chat!

I had a dream about converting the barn in back of my Maine house to a studio. It obviously never happened but dreaming is fun.

There was another house I definitely considered buying because it had many nice outbuildings. Oh, more dreams!

Yes, I saw Philly was cold! but don’t worry, as soon as Colin’s son is moved out, that room is yours, whenever we visit!... Bring a half dozen Philly cheese steaks for lunch!

Re: QDC - our Quick-Dry-Cafe ..... come chat!

Making me hungry blue.

I was dreaming about painting last night but this time I had a project going that had all kinds of tall buildings and I don't know what it was made of but it was kind of 3D. So from one angle you could mainly see one side of the buildings, but from another angle you could see two sides. It was looking really cool but now I'm awake and realizing it doesn't exist lol.

Re: QDC - our Quick-Dry-Cafe ..... come chat!

So today I moved my boxes of paints and brushes up to the loft in my apartment. It's only a few ft away but more distant in my mind. I have dogs coming for the next few weeks and I needed more floor space and head space.

But I do always have my inks at hand and my wit and wisdom to help Bluefish too!

Wisdom ?....Wisdom?...anyone that stores their paintings in the microwave, may possess wit!...but how do you heat up a TV dinner?.... of course, you run down to Pat’s and pick up a ‘cheese steak’ now that’s wisdom...

Re: QDC - our Quick-Dry-Cafe ..... come chat!

lol! I like that floor plan, Michelle! Our house is sort of like that. Hubby is a baker and started his own little home bakery about a year ago. I have a studio and sell art and crafts. We bought a place with three bedrooms, 2 are tiny and 1 is huge with a bathroom attached. The dining room became an extension of the kitchen for hubby. We walled it off and put in a commercial oven and burner and work surfaces and storage, etc. We made one tiny bedroom a dining room/office. We sleep in the other tiny bedroom and the large bedroom is a studio, with a little storage for the kitchen as well, but mostly my workspace. I also have plants growing in there, but for the most part, its my studio. We use very little space for actual living. But we're ok with that. Its our house, we can do what we want with it. We don't entertain anyway. Society has no hold on us! lol. Oh, and the cats sleep in the studio too.

Every time I look around and wonder what I want "extra room" for it's mostly to keep my "living" apart from sleeping. I want a peaceful place for sleep with my animal kingdom. I often think about the very basic rooms the Japanese have for sleep- only with more pillows! (And clothes storage!)

I'd like to have a place to entertain but it can be someplace else as I won't entertain often! But I miss board game night so much!
