Re: Weekly-ish sketches

Thanks again Joe
It's interesting, the urge to keep drawing vs am I still working on a concept sketch. The spaces between in the composition and the breaking down of areas into patches merging light and dark is very hypnotic for me. I constantly wonder how to render this into colour without spending a month or two on a painting ...

A delight to view. The layers of transparency and organic forms are very captivating. Stunning and amazing.

Re: Weekly-ish sketches

That's a lovely comment coaltip Thanks so much. The layering is what can catch me up and leave me in the middle of a drawing for weeks on end, so it needs to be approached with caution

Re: Weekly-ish sketches

There’s a painting on the easel, leaving less time for sketches. That said, this one intrigued me with its possibilities. 8” x 10”

Re: Weekly-ish sketches

Thanks Copic marker. I have another quick whale sketch, thinking about lines and juxtaposition. And a line lady.

Re: Weekly-ish sketches

Whale Tree Dancer Concept - I think this will work up into a 24"x36" painting akin to the painting currently in progress in the studio (I'm including the painting because it came out of these sketches and I really like that fact )

Re: Weekly-ish sketches

Took another look and decided the drawing seemed to ask for a bit more TLC. This is an update
