Hi, I was commissioned to paint a portrait of this dog. The reference photo is not very good quality. I cannot see his eye in the photo due to it being dark so I want to know if the eye that I painted in appears to be a good proportion for the head. Also, the paint is still wet so there is a glare on it, but I am still working on the background. I believe it’s too dark all around and perhaps should lighten it up around the face and a bit behind the dog. It looks like there is a bit of light coming from the right side of him on the reference photo. What do you think? Almost done? Another note-I can’t seem to rotate the images properly in this message.

Looks about right to me maybe you are overthinking also I like the background works well the dog pops and the separation of spatial planes is good:) Nice work on the fur for sure.
