WiP - Still Life...

This is a piece I am currently working on for Grotius' Life Challenge...

The story behind it is that a few days back we had some sunshine.. and I caught an image of my brushes and cleaners etc. bathed in this beautiful late afternood Northern Light as it swung round to the back of my Apartment,,,

SO as not to lose it I hurriedly put together a Small scene without any thought for compossition, colour ....anything but the light!

Pure fluke that I dug out 3 primaries,,,The backdrop is a black gessoed canvas and I have another white one propped up to the right which is bouncing back the reflected light..

The underpainting was a quick Verrdaccio - this is the second layer (First Colour layer) to establish the base colour values.

I may get away with just one Glazing layer on top but maybe 2...

Great job with this one, you really did capture that light incredibly. Sometimes when the perfect variables hid you have to drop everything and paint!
