"Angel of Deception"

Hi All!

I thought I'd share my latest effort with you.

Looking at the source photograph I thought to myself "Can anyone this angelic truly be an angel?" And that's what got me going over this one. Hence the title "Angel of Deception"

42" x 30" Vinyl on board. I stuck to what I knew best after the last fiasco I had! But today I'm having a go with acrylic (mainly due to group pressure Mark Y and Mark M! ) - it will be interesting for me to see how differently they behave to what I'm used to.

Have fun!

Re: "Angel of Deception"

Somethign looks very odd about her arm there. It seems ill formed or shrunken. Possibly, leaving out that you can see her armpit may help it, even if it is in the reference. I am unsure if those are prominant bones in her neck or a shirt collar. They seem incorrect if it is her clavicle. I don't know, those are just things I'd be very unhappy with if this were mine.

On your concept, looks are deceiving and just looking at a person in one pose can't really convey their personality, no, not im my opinion. So, in that case, your concept is right on. Peopel often make the mistake in assumign an extrememly beautiful person is also a perfect person in all other ways. Such is not the case all the time. Also, the other way around is often false too; a creepy looking person can be the nicest, kindest, softest person and not a "bad" person! lol

Hi Jocelyn,

Thanks for that! You get too close sometimes and you can't see the wood for the trees!

I think what has happened is that I got so carried away with the hair and created too much of a high-light on the extreme left (from viewer) of her shoulder that has created her withered look...

..I'll deal with that soon.

Thanks!
