Question Mailing list code

I would like to add a mailing list to my site so my buyers can sign up for a newsletter and updates. Anyone know of one?

Thanks

Re: Mailing list code

If you are using constant contact or emailbrain, the code comes with it to manage your subscribers list.

I am using constant contact at the moment, but am switching to godaddy express email marketing as I am not sending out a newsletter every month.

Re: Mailing list code

I'm hosted with NetworkEleven and although I like a lot of their add-on options I don't like their mailing list.

Re: Mailing list code

Would a simple formmail script do? If you have CGI you can just make your own form for emails, subscribing or comments, and process it with a formmail script (I can find you one I think). Of course, that just emails you the info so you'd still have to manage the actual list. So depends on if you're looking for specific 'mailing list' scripts or just a submit form?

Hi Tamara,

You might want to do a google search for autoresponders. An autoresponder will manage your email list. There are hundreds out there and hopefully you will find one that works for you.

Re: Mailing list code

Cool, I just got a formmail script with my new templates... will try and post info tomorrow. You'll need to make sure you have a CGI folder on your server.

Re: Mailing list code

You could also set one up by just creating a folder for subscriber's email addys and then creating an email/newsletter and sending it out "bcc."

Just a thought.

Re: Mailing list code

Here's the instructions from the template I have: http://www.allwebco-templates.com/su...ntact_form.htm

I had to follow the directions on the link in Step 2 and download the formail script too.

I've attached the html for the form, though it might have lots of extra rubbish in it! The new pages aren't online for my site yet, but should be ready to go by Sunday night (so mid-day your time probably) and you can have a look at it in action there if you like. This is my finished code for the form so it has all my details in it, which you might want to change (or delete the 'where did you find me' options, etc.). I had to change the file ending from .htm to .txt for the uploader to work.

Tina.
