html email reply form?

Is there an easy way to put one of those forms on my page so readers can send an email? I have a clickable email but it doesn't work for people who use Hotmail, etc. -- for people who don't have a local program on their computer. I would just want a line where they fill in their own email (if they want to) and then a place for comment that would come directly to my email box. It would not be posted on the page until I read it. Thanks for help and for telling me where to look!
Nikole

Re: html email reply form?

What kind of site or page are you using?
That might make a difference..
Most have an option for a contact us or email me etc... you can add/modify that part.

Or do you mean here on your profile page?
If you have a site or page somewhere else , you can add it into your siggy line & profile here.

Re: html email reply form?

I don't advertise my page or put it in my signature because I haven't been keeping it up -- but this is a step I want to take -- here it is if you don't mind taking a look at it. I just hope I can insert some code that will do what I mentioned above. Thanks!

Hi Nikolette,

In order to send email via a HTML form, you will need to include some PHP code. And although it may sound easy, it may be a bit more complicated depending on your web host provider. They may have some connection requirements to their email server.

Below is a link on how to build a form similar to what you're asking for, complete with the HTML and the PHP code. You may also want to contact your web host to see if they can assist you. (Just FYI, once you include the PHP code you may need to rename the file from .html to .php).

Best Wishes!

Re: html email reply form?

Thanks Sandman! I am going to work with this a little bit even though I might end up having somebody do it for me! I like to know where they are coming from too. -- the part that worries me is the idea that spammers would infiltrate through my form. Anyway, I can set it up in a hidden place and see if it works. Thanks very much again!

There's a lot of places online where you can get a contact form with cut and paste code such as www.123contactform.com
