Which Free Graphics Program

Only know the basics about computers, not a fundi like you folk here.

Have moved from West Coast to Midlands (South Africa) Dont have land line, cant use my old program.

Need my graphics program> Cant find a free one on line that has posterising which I use often

Used to have Gimp and ACDSee but now have two useless free photo manipulation and paint programs.

Any advice please. Buying something on line is unfortunately not an option.

With thanks for any reply.

Hi,

Ok. You say that you 'don't have a land line,' and you can't 'find a free one on line.'

I don't understand. You do or don't have Internet access?

Gimp is still available on line and free, again assuming you have Internet access. You're able to post this, so I'm assuming you have Internet access. So...why can't you download Gimp??

Best Wishes!

If you are interested on digital painting, give Krita a try: https://krita.org/en/features/highlights/

I'm guessing you want one that you can use offline and store stuff offline?

Re: Which Free Graphics Program

Since you've used GIMP before, I'd suggest that.

Re: Which Free Graphics Program

Try Paint.net a free software program that has posterizing. It is up to date, unlike Gimp which is old stuff and has not been supported for many years now.

I'm not trying to start a debate here, but I have no idea where you're getting your information regarding GIMP. Before making a comment 'that it has not been supported for many years now' you may want to first check the GIMP website (gimp.org) where you will find that version 2.8.20 was released Feb. 1, 2017, that macOS and Windows upgrades were released on Feb. 7, 2017, and additional development plans are underway for major improvements for a 2.8.20 release sometime in the future.

I have no affiliation with GIMP, but being a software developer I have a lot of respect for a development community that offers a FREE open-source application that easily rivals some of the best commercial graphic programs available.

My apologies, that was not what I was told last month.
