Fer sure!

As my sister (also a Dianne/a) used to chant while skipping rope:
Quote:
My boyfriend took me to the candy store;
I ate what he bought me,
But I wanted more!
He bought me ice cream,
He bought me cake,
And I went home with a tummyache!

Mommy, Mommy, I feel sick,
Call the doctor,
Quick
Quick
Quick!

Doctor, Doctor, will I die?
“Yes,” said the Doctor,
“And so will I.”

WoodyWelch Excellent as always. It makes me picture a similar scene in my mind. Somewhere, in a desolate city, there is an underground lab where all kinds of experiments are taking place....

LavenderFrost Interesting. Makes me think that nothing being there would actually be a more optimistic scenario. Or would it ?

talisman I know a person who is in her 50s and both of her parents had similar health history. She's trying all kinds of diets and exercise to avoid that fate. Thank you for sharing your story with us and I hope that your fear will prove unfounded

vmrs Both are interesting and made me slightly dizzy which means they're definitely good I find the fact that the word "spinning" is spinning with the rest of the piece oddly fascinating

Attalus Interesting, good job with her pose and proportions. Btw I hate poisoned arrows... Unless it's my character that uses them, of course.

Wow, Dianna, what a life you've had! And a needle in the eye on top of it all. No one knows what life has in store, all we can do is keep living. We don't know what comes after either, but I hope there is something, otherwise life seems kind of pointless.

Virginia, very effective. I'm feeling a little dizzy.

Good work Bill. I wonder who she's aiming at.

Bill, that's the smart thing to be afraid of. All the doctors' offices and hospitals here have masks and gloves dispenser by their doors. I like the green coming off the arrow, knew it was something nasty before I read the words with it.

I suspect she is aiming at me, so I stay indoors and just go out in the daytime, avoiding the Moon. And wash my hands after I have been in a public place.

Thanks. Poor Susie had to pose with a yardstick since we don't do archery.

Me, too, Vanity. That's why I gave her one. One of the frustrating things about the computer game Baldur's Gate is that the otherwise easy Hobgoblins apparently randomly shoot poisoned arrows, though they never drop them A friend of mine remarked sourly that they must dip their arrows in the company latrine.

I'm surprised you don't own a bow Bill, even just one for show. I've never used one myself though I know quite a few people who do and go hunting with them. They all use compound bows though, I would like to try a recurve, though I suppose they are harder to use.

I have recurve bows but I have given them to my son.
The funny part is he still has to have me string them.
He always jokes he one day hopes to be able to string his Grandfather's bow, when he is as much a man, as his Mom.
Reminds me of Odysses and his bow.
I once did do the Robin Hood split arrow thing....I did have about 5 witnesses!

Re: February 2018 Fantasy and Sci-Fi Art Monthly Challenge and Chat!

My husband hunts with a compound bow. He's really really good. I taught archery when I was a camp counselor but I'm not that good, too rusty!

I would love to see the split arrow thing, I've seen other people do it but I've never done it.

There's a big Renaissance fair thing here every year, I always forget about it but this year I put a reminder in my phone. They always have the archers and some amazing buskers. I can't wait to see it.

Virginia Actually, yes ! Oddly enough, my mind keeps on insisting only "stop" is actually there...

Bill Trust me, I remember them very well. Things were fun especially when you had low CON characters

I had one, but never used it, then lost it in the divorce.

Wow Dianna, I'd be happy just to hit a target lol.

A Renaissance fair sounds like fun. Might offer a lot of painting inspiration too.

There was one down near Waxahachie when I lived there B.D. (Before Divorce) my clearest memories are a bunch of kids walking around eating turkey legs about as big as they were, and a grove of cottonwoods by the little creek, where there was a Pay to Play "Dungeons and Dragons" table and another guy in a wizard outfit playing chess for cash bets. My Ex- (who had an exaggerated idea of my chess prowness) wanted me to play him, but I didn't have to be a wizard to scry that it would be "Mate in two moves" in ten moves.
