Ball-point pen could be very challenging to work with but I found it intriguing when it come to creating values with it. Below are two recent drawings, others could be viewed at my blog: https://ajayi-oluseyi.blogspot.com.ng/2018/01/beyond-mfa-program-explorations-pen-ink.html C & C welcome.

February 5, 2018 at 6:21 am #545943I do appreciate the response of members’ reaction to this thread, quite encouraging indeed. Below is my last pen drawing in 2017. I needed to increase the value of the darkest areas and found the overall blue a little bit behind what I desired, so I introduced black. i intend to combine red, blue and black ball-point pens in subsequent explorations. C & C welcome.
‘Milk maid 2’ 24.7 x 37 cm. 2017February 6, 2018 at 12:48 am #545949Absolutely gorgeous.
As a drawing newbie, the thought of using a pen (without the ability to erase) is a terrifying one!

February 11, 2018 at 10:31 am #545945You certainly have patience. The swan is the most successful for me. The last figure’s arm seems displaced. Is this down to a lack of underdraeing?
C&C always welcome.

I can’t imagine having to do realism with ink, it blows my mind. I do have a question though, what techniques did you use for these drawings? It looks like there’s crosshatching in there and maybe a little bit of dottwork, but I can’t really tell for sure.
