January 2, 2016 at 10:57 am #448592To all Acrylic Painters who submit work to this forum –
You are invited to choose, and post here, one of your works from last year.
It must have been shown in this forum in 2015 – please provide the link to the original thread so viewers may comment if they wish.
It does not necessarily have to be your ‘best’, but one which may have significance for you – it would be good if you added some comment about your choice.
*********************
This is a no comment thread: if you wish to add comments about any of the paintings please follow the link to the original thread and add your comment there.
Cheers, Maureen

These threads are usually closed afterwards so I’m not sure if I should post this here or not, but this is where the original is:

January 5, 2016 at 11:16 pm #530264This was one of my few works this past year. Hope to have more works this year. This is a painting from photos taken 30 years ago which I hope to duplicate this year from photos taken of the same people and the same place with the next generation coming on board as well. Hopefully won’t take 30 years to complete…
I’m not sure how to add the link, which is on page three at the present time. :confused:January 10, 2016 at 5:45 am #530256I posted 5 works in 2015 (not nearly enough, but it was a tough year for me). This one may not have been the best but it is my favorite. I spent more time on this damn painting than anything ever before…It took me a month and a half, most days I did at least some work on it. A labor of love?

January 11, 2016 at 5:08 pm #530254This I knocked out for myself in about 4 weeks, painting only on the weekends It now resides above the bed. I thoroughly enjoyed painting this. After painting a frame on the wall around the triptych it now feels complete. My only bug about this is that the left panel feels visually tight compared to the other two
18X24, 48X24, 18X24 + boarder = 88X28 inches
Here is the thread and more detail here and here

www.jonbradley.artJanuary 19, 2016 at 10:45 am #530255I only seem to have painted for Different Strokes this year so mine is the one for the March 2015 challenge.
It’s of Tintern Abbey in South Wales, 10×8 on mountboard and the colour is W&N Indanthrene Blue, PB60. Had it for years and hardly used – the colour part was the challenge!
I took the photo on a blazingly hot day in 2014 and liked the drama of the soaring columns and strong light and shade.Cheers, Maureen

My 1937 Hudson Terraplane ptg just won a ribbon in a group show. So that’s my choice for this year.
