Re: (another)Photo and Painting thread

I think cropping the photo and adjusting the composition will definitely halp make a stronger painting. We are artists and painters, we are allowed to change things to make better art.

Looking forward to seeing the paint on canvas.

W.I.P. Photo and Painting

Very strange my W.i.p. thread completely disappeared from the face of wet canvas before I had a chance to thank all those that took time to look and comment.

Here's where it's at, and save for a few tweaks (roof line on rightside car) I'll probably put it away for awhile. I think it proved that the concept of the painting works. Some things about the execution I wished had come out better but looking at it four feet away in person, rather than pixel peaking on a monitor, it looks pretty good imo - thanks in no small part to the advice given here.
questions ,comments always welcomed
Now to infinity and beyond.

But, but, it's Buzz Lightyear, not Buzz Stoplight!

not sure you understand about beyond infinity. When you're beyond infinity, Buzz Lightyear and Buzz Stoplight can both exist at the same time - in fact everything that can exist, does exist, and exists simultaneously. Except for infinity because you're beyond it.

Re: (another)Photo and Painting thread

As a side note: Most photography lenses will focus "beyond infinity'. There is an infinity mark (sideways 8) on the focus ring but the lens doesn't stop there but can be rotated into focus beyond that. The reason is that temperature fluctuations and manufactures tolerances effect lens focus, so the infinity marking may not be accurate and you may need to move the focus elements beyond the marking to focus properly.
