Hi everyone!! It’s my first time hosting a monthly challenge. This is an all come event, so everyone is welcome. All mediums & skill levels are welcome to. It’s all about having fun. Please comment on one another’s work, but no harsh critique unless it’s requested by the artist. The photos for this month are all mine & I wanted to show a little piece of Saskatchewan with you all. You may crop them, combine them, change up compositions, or paint them as is. I hope you will join in the fun!! Happy creating!!

I like to go to our local off leash dog park & take pictures.

A pup I used to have. Gave him to a friend. My grandson named him Crosby (he’s a fan of Sydney Crosby)

Spring storm. Note… trees have not leafed out yet.

So sad to see these old barns falling down.

Landscape view I see every day. (I’m standing on my front step) The dark line near the bottom are train tracks.

Exploring nature trails by the South Saskatchewan River. Half hour drive from my place.

Sheila – thanks for hosting! Beautiful references!
I used my artistic licence and combined 4 of the pics onto an A4 card and I used these pics for our challenge in the op forum:angel:

Christel, this is great! Taking on four different references for a single artwork was a brave move, and it paid off! Beautiful details and I like the grassy background to set them all off. Nice work!

                Nicely done, Christel!

Sheila – thanks for being this months host. Great photos. Your neck of woods looks very much like the eastern plains of Wyoming….dry yellow grass and big skies!

                Thanks Jenna and Ron!

A really quick one Christel! Each animal is nicely set into the grouping on the card. Is an A4 about 8×10?

Thanks for hosting Sheila! I’m an Alberta girl married to a Saskatchewan boy. He grew up in Quill Lake and we make a trip there every summer.

One of the best guys I ever worked for was from Swift Current. He used to call it “Speedy Creek”. LOL

I’m determined to participate in at lease one challenge this year!!
