Not strictly SW, or W, but it seems to fit here. If not, let me know. This is the second version. The first (see “figures” forum) was a bit dismal and “spooky”, so I reworked it.

Why, sure, this fits here. It feels sad…she looks lonesome, which is an unfortunate reality for so many older people. I love how you use lighting to add to the story and the scene. A wonderful painting, Skylar!

Jenna – Thank you so very much!

Just for the record, here is the original concept, and image…

Skylar, both of these versions are exemplary! Both indicate aloneness, loneliness, and isolation in a dreary setting. Profound! At least the first woman had some wine to drink.

Thanks for posting the original as well. I like both versions. I do find the original version has a more suspenseful feeling. I’m not sure why…I think it’s that she’s turned a bit toward the door, which, due to the deep shadow, looks like it might be inching open. I like that version as well, though. Both portray so much atmosphere. Well done!

Thank you, Jenna! You read the images as I intended.

Both capture a sense of isolation although the original has a wisp of desperation in it which the second does not.

Jon – Thank you! Your observations mirror my own.
