        This was a quick practice drawing done from life (no guidelines). Of course my dog did move before I finished:lol: A4 using a cheap fineliner

        I think you’ve caught the position well before he moved!! Nice work!

        Not too sure about the stippling on his right leg – just a personal observation!:)

        You don’t say what size Isobel, but I assume no bigger than 8 x 10″? I like this a lot, but I agree with Maureen about suddenly introducing the dot technique. Much better to continue your excellent fur technique along the leg. That said, in the throes of an action sketch, decisions have to be made quickly, and as a relatively new pen and ink convert, I know how unforgiving this medium can be!! There’s no going back once the ink is on the paper. Well done.

            Thanks! I agree about the stippling. I was trying to show very short hairs,but it does clash a bit with the rest of the drawing,
