Re: Quiet Brook

I keep looking for a Red-winged Blackbird since they love that sort of habitat.
It is a lovely scene as is. If you do another you might consider making the mid area more sunlit to break up all those greens and add a hint of blue in the sky.

Re: Quiet Brook

Thanks Jon for your suggestions, appreciate it. I clicked on your link to the Red-winged Blackbird. Cute little guy. I havenít noticed them in the area before, probably because Iím not paying close enough attention. I will be on the lookout now!

Re: Quiet Brook

Hi, Rochelle, this is a quiet marsh painting.....I would like if it remained the same, for all the reasons previously stated.Ö.however, since you asked, I argree w Jon, something appropriately living in your scene( fishie circles as the catch the surface), more variety in your sunlit areas, more interest(wider) in the creek area and /or a continuation of the water & reflection all the way thru the scene to draw the viewer in and around. Egret, seagulls in the distance with a more blue wispy sky. A rainy day project, have fun! add some violets to the shades, yellows to the tree edges..explore. I just finished up experiments with these incredible hot days in the AC and am very pleased with what I accomplished with the acrylics & wc pencils on Bristol board , just for fun! as a friend says "happy painting!"
