Commisioned Bassett C&C welcome xpost A&W

Finishing up a Bassett hound commision. client told me after I painted dog she wanted the BG in as well. Tried my best to use same colours and have it look similar.(Im not good a backgrounds) Any C&C would be appreciated

This is looking great. I love the expression, that says it all. My one suggestion would be to warm up the browns in the dog, I think that will push the dog forward and the background back. If you look at the tones in the photo, the dog's brown fur (the ears and on the head and body) are much warmer with some hints of yellow. You can use that to your advantage as warms come forward and cooler colors recede.

You've got a great likeness going there! One thing I notice is that his eye shape is a little different. He's got a straighter droop and the shape of the eye and iris is a bit off.

Very beautifully done. His owner will be thrilled!
