DA Mash up
Hi here is my mash up for Deviant Art. One of my spins (yes I did more than one, they said you could) was "The creepy girl from the ring on Pandora revealing a deep dark secret."
The key will open the lock for the secret, at least that was my thought.
C&C would welcome before I post it for the mash up challenge on there.
Thanks

Re: DA Mash up
I'll try to get a better photo tomorrow, if the sun shines this looks a bit washed out.
It's really not!

Re: DA Mash up
Very creative!
There's a bit of a split down the middle, or is that intentional?
This is just nitpicking but the brown branchy things in the top left corner look like they should be distant tree trunks but then they should be thicker at the bottom.

Re: DA Mash up
The girl looks creepy enough and I love the pink fountain (?). The branch thingies in the corner look like trailing branches (to me) from the tree on the left, no? If so, I would make them a little threadier as the sweep the surface. Thready=creepy, if you ask me. Like fingers, or claws. If they are distant tree trunks, I agree they should be thicker at the bottom ("Yew pays yer money and yew takes yer choice")

Re: DA Mash up
Good call on the vines, upper left I'll do something to make them more obvious that they are trailing down.
Thanks for the input!

Re: DA Mash up
As vines, where are they coming from? Should they be in front of the tree? Should probably be more detailed to bring them closer.

Michelle you are an awesome artist and I really respect your input.
Ok, I looked at it and I was wondering if the split was vertical or horizontal. The fact I wan't sure just means really bad composition on my part.
I did a little to try and fix that. I think the extra floating plants help a bit.
As for the vines I wanted them to be misty but I did thicken the tops and added more little vines.
Pandora is a trippy place up is down and sometimes sideways too.
If you can have floating mountains with trees growing up and vines hanging down, not to mention floating plants everywhere, and trees that are big enough to be footpaths, vegetation can be very weird.
Thanks to everyone for the feedback!!!

Can't take credit for the idea, it was computer generated, but fun to make work.

Re: DA Mash up
Yes, I meant vertical. Many elements just on one side or the other kind of divided it, but bringing some across helped. Maybe you could add one more of those big flowers? at the bottom to the bottom left corner.

Re: DA Mash up
Heh, I just realized who the girl reminded me of: Wednesday Adams, whose name alone cracks me up. Played by Christina Ricci in the 1991 movie. Loved the final scene: Villianess falls in a hole. Pugsley and Wednesday are standing beside the hole with shovels.
Wednesday: "Let's bury her."
Pugsley: "Is she dead?"
Wednesday: "Does it matter?"

Re: DA Mash up
Wednesday is very cool in a spooky sort of way.
My hubby always had a thing for the original Morticia Addams, Caroline Jones.
Morticia and Gomez were the most romantic and fun couple.
Hmmmm, maybe I should dress up like Moricia for Halloween.

I posted this.
I looked at some of the other mash-ups what an amazing variety of artworks, styles and interpretations.
Lots of FUN!
