Well done! Plein air is indeed humbling. Nevertheless, you have a wonderful painting here.

Nicely done. It forces you to be more spontaneous and economical with the brush strokes.

Excellent. I love the spontaneity, the feeling of light and hazy background. Perhaps take the almost black underside of the tree trunk in shadow back a bit?

Thanks everyone for your encouraging words. I am really trying to make it a point not to paint from photographs anymore . I will paint plein air as much as possible.

I agree! The few attemps I have made so far, made me so humble I never tried again :)! I know I will… one of these days. Thanks for reminding!

I believe thats the only way to improve and take our work to the next level. Here is one of my favourite quote…”When you go outside, you will be half the painter you were, but when you return back to the studio, you will be twice the painter.” – Richard Robinson

I like the misty background and the use of light green areas to highlight the focal point, the lovely pump and bush behind and over it. Well done!
