Gad, I feel so behind the 8 ball with trying to play catch up on life in general and trying to paint. Tons of overtime at work and little time to paint or keep up with the wonderful paintings on here.
This guy took me a month to complete, working an hour or two when I could. He is a gorgeous Lusitano stallion, with kind permission of the photographer to use as a reference. Done with colored pencils on anthracite pastelmat and pan pastels in the background, about 14″ x 16″. So many millions of pencil strokes! It felt like giving birth to an elephant to get him completed, but here he is!

VenaJanuary 30, 2019 at 10:04 am #769191Your elephant is gorgeous! Haha! I can identify. But that’s the thing that’s great about CPs. You can pick them up and put them down, working here and there as you have time. Gorgeous work!
