Hi everyone, and welcome to Scavenger Hunt #546: June 18-26. I thought I’d jump in to host in case Tim cannot make it in time.

If you’ve done at least one Scavenger Hunt and have time to host one, we’d really appreciate it! You can sign up by posting your name and the current hosting list stickie on Artwork from Life forum: https://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/show…6#post21360136

Rules for Hunting:
* All items on the list must be sketched from life–not imagination nor photo references
* Each object you draw can count for only one item on the list, no matter how many shapes/parts/colors that object contains. This was agreed to by unanimous vote among the participants
* You may place multiple objects together in a drawing or painting, and may count those objects as separate list items, but no single object can count for more than one list item.
* All items posted must be numbered. Count them as you go. The first item you sketch and post will be #1 regardless of its place on the list. Do them in whatever order you wish, but count them in the order in which you sketch them, from 1 to 26.

Do as many or as few items as you like; you don’t have to finish the entire list to participate! You don’t have to comment on every post, but comment, if and when you can.

Scavenger Hunts last for 9 days, with the next hunt starting on the 9th day.

Please tell us your size, surface, medium, and the amount of time it took you to do each sketch. We love hearing about your subjects and setups. Photos of your subjects are also welcome!

Sorry guys. I forgot that the next hunt is posted on the last day of the previous one, and not on the start date itself. Thanks, Eyepaint, for keeping the wheels turning. I’m very busy for another week or two, so I wouldn’t have been a good host anyway.

Best of luck with your hunting, everyone.

EP, thanks for the list. Your line drawings inspire. Although not sure about the subject of the book. Smiling.

Tim, hope we see some of your great sketches even if you are busy. I hope to get with it……..

Van An, great musical scene. Didn’t know you could sketch in French. Smiling again.

I sketched in the big book with the Pilot ink pen. It’s about 1/2 page, 20 minutes or so.

Thanks, Van An. Nice pens and pencils. You captured the shines well.

Ai, beautiful watercolor veggies. The tomatoes are especially luscious.

Pastels called to me today. About half an hour I imagine, forgot to check. This is on the same paper as the bottom of my shoe the other day, wipe off.

Jo : Excellent pastel. Like the lighting of the spirals. How do you conserve the pastels ?
Question : Under the painting, do you have to retype each time the three lines of presentation (web page, page blog,…)

I frame pastels directly against the glass or plexiglass.
To store, you can pile them up with glassine or slick paper between and clip together or tape. You can put them in a plastic sleeve that fits fairly tightly on standard sizes so you can flip through them. When I paint outside I clip a piece of foamcore over them to bring home. As long as you don’t rub them, they “keep” very well. I even stick small sketches between the pages of a magazine when they aren’t for sale or not precious…

Where it says “My WC” above when you are signed in you can make an avatar and add a signature with your web info or a saying, etc. There might be a limit on the number of lines, I’m not sure. EP may have more info.

I just love your shoes in this post. Fun!!

Your blog is great, beautiful sculpture.

Ai, wow, amazing lettering and lines with the “no line” direct method of wc. Applause. Pretty tree, too.

Out most of the day, checkups both health and finance. Ha.

Maybe I will find something to sketch while waiting.

Tim – no worries. I had an “off-by-one” calendar issue myself. Take care and join in with us as soon as you can

Ng – thank you. Lovely musicians. Cool art supplies (pencils, pens). Oooh boots! (with bonus dog face on the same page :) ) Jo had the info on making what’s called a “signature” which is the text that automatically goes at the bottom of your post. You can have three lines of links and a photo. There is a limit to how many links go off WC to someplace else.

Links in Signature Lines — You may use your signature line to provide up to 3 links to your own personal sites or areas on other sites reserved for your use (such as a blog, a site where you display your portfolio of art). You may also include up to ten links to URLs within the WetCanvas Community (https://www.wetcanvas.com), these are in addition to the three personal previously-mentioned links.
i. You may not use promotional language in these links. For example, you may post: “My eBay” with a link to your eBay listings, but you may not post “My eBay — Check out my newest creations.” Similarly, you may post “Joseph’s Art Studio” but not “Buy My Art at Joseph’s Studio.”
ii. You may only use these links to promote your artwork. You may not use them to promote products. For example, you may NOT post a link to where you sell paintbrushes or glass supplies.
iii. If you wish to include graphics in your signature line, the graphic images must comply with these restrictions: (a) the graphics must be your own, original artwork; (b) the graphics must not contain nudity; (c) the graphics must fit within a 468 × 60 pixel banner with no additional text; (d) the graphics must not contain any business or company logos or other images, except that members of the Partnership Program may display a 468 × 60 pixel company banner. Any links embedded in these graphics must comply with the other restrictions on the use of links provided above, and any such links count toward the total of 3 off-site links you are permitted in your signature line.

link to WC User Agreement – see Section 25a.

Jo – thank you. What a cozy corner :) What a beautiful spiral bound wc sketchbook :) With a cover that pretty I’d feel intimidated to mark inside.

Ai – ooh such lucious colourful veggies! Is that a romance novel with Thai title and author next to your mug of tea? Great greens on your tree.

I’ve got a few more sketches I’ll add later today if I get the chance.
