Use to denote nudity/mature subject matter The Tall One.

The return of Sally.

And another long tall one for you to immerse your selves in.

Dave.

Hi David,
It’s a bit like Boris’s Canary, It’s tossed out there but is unlikely to fly.

Nice one Dave. A little off topic but here's the reference. I'm sure Harry could make a cartoon of this

Re: The Tall One.

Hi Bill,
Sally was the model at the first life drawing session I attended, tried to find those first drawings to show just how far my drawing has deteriorated over the years but they are lost!
Went down the figure forum mine carrying a Canary to see if things had changed but still no meaningful critiques.
Jo don’t look at my drawings that sort of nonsense is to be avoided because it’s a total waste of time.

Dave.

Ahh Dave it's inevitable as age malforms us that our skill degrades, hands and eyesight. I'm doing some of the worst drawings in my artistic life fortunately I can recover with reworking.

You can't force people to do what they don't want and the young ones hungry for the skills to get them that art job are probably elsewhere snapping at the heels of the great.

Glad you are still alive and kicking.

Bill

Those of us who know you Dave also know you like realistic criticism. I have smarted a few times at some of Bill's comments but there isnt one that hasn't been useful or made me think. Bethany has, a few times, criticised me for not drawing hands and feet and I know she's right, so now, I often draw appendages for practice. Feedback on here is very helpful to us all and my own art has hopefully improved by being part of the forum. We can argue the toss about style but there are basics in art which are sacrosanct.

Dave, I love the additions to your posts that improve our knowledge of art and art history. long may it continue

Hi Bill, just had a bit of a search and found the drawings from that very first life drawing session with Sally.

The pose is practicably the same one, I guess models repeat themselves.
As you can see that original drawing has a lot more merit than the recent one.

Hi Earl, apart from suppling examples of bad drawing there does not seem to be any reason to post.

Hi Arl, my use of chicken scratching is something to avoid it can hardly be called line.

Nothing in Art is sacrosanct David, I’ll leave that for the Pope.

Dave.
