A portrait that nearly was...

I begged & borrowed the last frame on my daughter's roll of B&W film, so I used my digital to set-up for a portrait. Then I swapped to the film body and shot my one frame. Sadly, the flashes didn't fire. Maybe it would have worked better if I'd turned the transmitter on.

So this was one of the set-up shots from the digital...

What a cutie pie.
This is an adorable shot of your daughter with camera in hand. Like father like daughter.

I missed seeing your photos and lighting expertise.

Keep us updated on your daughter.

What a great shot, she looks like she's having fun!
I'm so glad they still teach film! I still have my Pentax K-1000 from my college days (or daze as my mother calls them. ).

Yes, I was really pleased (and envious) that she's getting a chance to shoot film. Our Pentax's were P30Ts, and they gave us good service for the money. I'd forgotten how hard the meter is to read though - it hides a long way to the left of the viewfinder and can be hard to see if you're wearing glasses. On the other hand, the viewfinder is so big and bright compared to my digital camera, and, oh bliss, oh joy, oh sweet rapture - a proper split prism focussing aid! Why did they ever get rid of those?

That's a great capture, far beyond a mere "set-up" shot.
