I think you did well for your first piece. One thing I would recomend is to purchase a craft knife or an exacto. It will give you much more control that then pointed scratchboard tool sold by ampersand (which while looks similar to the speedball tip, is actually a different tool, and not as good of metal) I think you will find the craft knife a better tool for creating details and a variety of lines. And try all different sides of the craft knife... most of my work is done with the back corners. I look forward to seeing you play with this some more.

The x-acto was recommended to me as well and works quite well. Also look at the Indy videos, especially Garbonzo's (Harold) as he shows a lot of other tools that you can use. Each board teaches a lot and you're off to a good start.
