Teamster

16x20 oil on canvas. First time I've painted on gallery-wrapped canvas. Painted the edges brown...I like the idea of not having to frame it, but it seems un-traditional for a history-based painting.

Hey Todd..
Love this one! He actually looks alot like a neighbor of mine... and 80+ year old curmudgeon that we actually like alot - this guy looks like he would be a character too!

Re: Teamster

Beautiful painting Todd.

Donald
PS: FWIW, I've tried painting the edges a solid color, I don't care for it. It's a little more work, but I extend the painting around the edges. It creates a nice effect, and I can add a few dollars to the price. I got the idea from all the gallery wrapped paintings hanging in my oncologist's office that I enjoyed looking at during my battle. The bottom is the hardest to paint.

Re: Teamster

I really like the angle and contrast created by the tent in the background. The rest is so rich looking! It almost looks like pastels, if that can be taken as a compliment by an oil artist. Beautiful!

Re: Teamster

Hey, Todd, Hi!

I know what you mean, but I think it is a great idea but not a deep one. It all depends on the home where it will hang. I mean in a nice little alcove sort of shadowboxed into a wall. BINGO. The less deep, the more they can just stick it in a traditional frame. Wouldn't fret at all.

Re: Teamster

This is just great. They can always add a floater frame if they want. Nice just as it is.
