Re: Mm2182

Methinks not, though you might find {+}a cropped version of{/+} the MM on a Russian site

This artist is second in four generations of painters (father, artist, son, and grandson)

Re: Mm2182

Think I've seen something similar to the mm somewhere, many years ago.

The mm looks like it's from the 1920s or '30s, but that last one you posted looks like it's from the 1950s or '60s.

Yes, both this artist, and one of the relatives have appeared on MM

Charley Toorop (1891-1955) (Really her name was Annie.)

Re: Mm2182

Yes, Charley referes, I suspect, to her second name - Caroline (Annie Caroline Pontifex Fernhout-Toorop)

While fascinating as a philosophical stance, I can not, myself, relate Moral Realism to art (see LG's link, http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/moral-realism/, Ethical Realism) - maybe my background in Boolean logic makes my thinking is too linear

Charley Toorop has a house in Bergen, and was associated with the Bergen school

Re: Mm2182

(thinks) What did Toorop have to do with Norway?

(discovers) There's a Bergen in Holland.

Re: Mm2182

Sorry, I should have said ... I first ran across the work of Charley Toorop (and her father Jan) in the Rijksmuseum in the Haag, and I simply associate her with Holland
