Thank you all - To answer some of the questions

The first snow in the higher mountais at the treeline comes usually in the middle of September - the first cows comming home this weekend

Its a nice celebration and all people in a farmers village take part
BTW The cows are only decorated if they had no looses on people or cattle during summer ( accidents , flash , fall ... )

I allways like it if a fence is between me and cows when painting - a beast in the back (I had this years ago - I didnt feel well )
