a couple of plein airs on a cold day

Groby Pool - it was a slate quarry long ago

I went out sketching today with a friend - COLD! and grey, so not an interesting light.

It was a good exercise even if the results aren't amazing

and a couple of miles away in Swithland Woods some snowdrops in the woods

I'd got so cold at the pool that the second one was done from the car while I thawed out

Done in a concertina fold sketchbook - A5 size

Very cool. They have a whimsical story book sort of feel to them.

I love the whimsical, loose line work. That's just great!
