Wonderful paintings everybody

Love those delicious watercolours Kay.

White Pen. Nice movement in your Pheasant

Shirl. Cute Hummingbird. I find those little creatures really fascinating.

Christel. All are great but my favourite is that lovely Lilac-breasted roller.

Here is my M -MARIBOU STORK . They remind me of very sombre undertakers - funny birds.

Re: New Project; Birds From A To Z

Wow, folks, I turned my back and more delights popped up from your collective brushes!
Christel - your kingfishers are perfect and I like the monochrome setting; their heads resemble the kookaburras to me but bills are different. LB Roller though takes the grand prize for being most adorable. The last two of macaw and mandarin have great lines and detail
WP - Ptarmigan wc sketch is fluid and easy on the eye. Love it
Chammi - I like your stork. The marabou fits well in tall vertical format
Mary - Your work never disappoints and with these mallards following a flock of geese is amazing

Macaws:

WP - great start to your Heron. It would be lovely to see it finished.
Mary - love that busy scene. It looks as if they are coming to feed.
Kay - great macaws! The last one is cool!

Re: New Project; Birds From A To Z

With all the birds I've painted, I was surprised not to find an N! I did find a reference on Nicobar pigeons from pmp though. Here is my attempt in ops.
Look at these very interesting birds at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicobar_pigeon being 40cm big and the closest to the extinct dodo.

Re: New Project; Birds From A To Z

I have never heard of a Nicobar before ... It looks like a cross between a peacock and a pigeon ... will have to do a google search now
I can do "o"
