Who has an opinion on the best online store platforms?
        Thanks,
        Linda

        I’m a fan of Dick Blick. dickblick.com

Years ago, when I had a car, I would shop at their store in Carle Place. Now I shop there online and try to limit my ordering to once a month. They have a very thorough selection and provide information about each product online. Note: there are some errors in this information. Their customer service is excellent and you can always call them for information about their products. Plus, their prices are less than or equal to other stores.

It’s helpful to get their 544 page printed catalog. Ask for the one called “Materials for Artists.” They have other catalogs for specific users, such as educators.

As an example of their customer service, one order came incomplete. It was missing a particular watercolor paint. I called them up and they sent it to me. Just like that. I had one frustration with them. I wanted to return a product I bought in the store. They said I couldn’t mail it in: I had to hand deliver it to a store, any store. Every company has its quirks.

        Good luck!

Do you mean to sell off of? I have been using shopify for a few years now. That’s my own art site, but I have also tried Amazon Handmade, dailypaintworks.com, fineartamerica.com, saatchiart.com, and Etsy. I’ve always sold way more off my own site.

I use FASO. E-commerce is built-in (PayPal). I’ve been very happy with it. :)

I also use Shopify. Very easy to set up and had a lot of powerful selling tools.

That was a bit funny. Buying art supplies from? Seling your artwork from?

As for me, I am a Shopify fan. My first online store was built with BigCommerce. When it came to launching my second ecommerce, I decided to use Shopify, and it was the right solution. Both BigCommerce and Shopify are self hosted ecommerce builders (where you don’t have to manage hosting separately ).

How come you switched from BigCommerce to Shopify, Ann? I’ve sometimes considered BigCommerce for my non-art shop is why I ask.

I decided on Big Commerce. So far so good. Thanks for all the comments.

The best one is the one you are willing to do marketing for to drive customer traffic to your work. People can’t buy what they don’t know about.

I like Square. I use it when I sell at art fairs and it is free to set up. I can integrate it into my existing web page as well. see here, http://www.417art.com/buy-print-s.html

It is impossible to unequivocally choose the most convenient online store platform. Each online store provides its services and, at the same time, tries to bring its own special advantages to this area of business. That is why each platform is different, which allows customers to choose the most convenient for themselves. For the owners of such sites, an important issue is the connection of e-commerce, which helps attract customers. If you are looking for such specialists, it may be useful to learn about https://transformagency.com/. In my opinion, an online business is much more profitable for the owner and the client simultaneously. For me, this is a way to save time, but for you?

                                                        Eric from Artspan here:

The Artspan concept grew out of my experience with my first artist website in the mid 90’s. The site was costly, not my design, not customizable, and enjoyed no traffic. Clearly, going forward, many other artists would have a similar experience.

Artspan was formed in late 1999 to address this. It developed artist-specific, templated sites with design options that were easy for artists to set up, and, later, to customize. With time came the ecommerce and other features that continue to make the Company the leader in its market.

Each individually branded site was also part of a larger community (later, marketplace), and thus enjoyed greater visibility than almost all of the many millions of individual artist sites.

Today, the Artspan offering continues to stand on two legs.

                                                        ·       Independently branded, feature-rich sites. All are ecommerce-enabled.

                                                        ·       The Artspan Art Marketplace which the member art is integrated into.

Thus artists have two platforms from which to sell their work.

                                                        ·       Their own branded websites for buyers who know them.

                                                        ·       The Artspan marketplace for new buyers who don’t know their work.

The artist sites and Marketplace showcase artwork and engage buyers. Two examples:

                                                        ·       The Augmented Reality Live Preview allows buyers to see how the artwork looks, at scale on any wall, using a smart phone or tablet camera feature.[1]

                                                        ·       The Prints-on-Demand (PoD) feature encourages buyers to size, mat and frame prints on the website using the tools found on the sites.1

Anyways any questions, please visit http://www.artspan.com or contact me through the site or here.  Have not been on WetCanvas for many years and happy to see it is still online and looks better than ever.

p.s. we are just completed some major upgrades and are expanding the marketplace and its audience. The sites are beautiful and very customizable. ps. current ecommerce is handled through Braintree (a PayPal product but much better suited and more secure for ecommerce).

Look forward to hearing from you!

                                                        thanks, Eric

Good day. Indeed, you can sell your art on Faso and Dickblick. But I think that owning a business is a much better option, because all the profits go only to you. I have often heard that media buying agencies uses call tracking. Interested, the point is to use artificial intelligence to find new customers. I decided to introduce this function in my business, the guys from https://dialics.com/call-tracking-for-affiliates/. I’m very pleased with the result :)
